Monday Blues? Not With These Yoga Moves!

These yoga moves will get you moving & grooving your way into the week ready to take on the world. Let’s get started –

1. Locust Pose (AKA “Shalabhasana”)

Feel like Superwoman (or Superman) in this classic move. Start by lying on your stomach with your arms at your side and your forehead resting on your yoga mat. Extend your arms straight in front of you and your legs behind you while squeezing your inner thighs and engaging your core.

Take a big deep breathe, exhale, and raise your arms & legs as high as you can. Make sure to keep your shoulders rolled down and back.

Hold this super pose for 30 seconds and then release! This pose is great for boosting your mood and relieving any stress.

2. Downward Dog (AKA “Adho Mukha Svanasana”)

Take a cue from our canine friends and start your week with a grateful, happy, and innocent heart. Stretch your troubles away with Downward Dog, arguably the most popular yoga pose that rejuvenates an exhausted body and calms a buzzing mind.

Downward-Facing Dog also builds strength throughout the entire body and helps reduce fatigue, making it a perfect asana for stressful workdays.

3. Wide-Legged Forward Bend (AKA “Prasarita Padottanasana”)

Traditionally believed to relieve anxiety and stress, this bend decompresses and lengthens the spine. Start with mountain pose, standing straight and tall. Slowly hinge forward lowering your head towards the floor. Hold for 30 seconds, then slowly raise back up feeling stronger then ever.
